SMS Send is a freeware application to send a free SMS message (up to 160 characters) to a mobile phone.
It remembers the last 10 phone numbers, starts with a default number and signature of your choice, and can also be used from the command line: SMSSend <number> "<text>".
SMS Send uses a free SOAP service from Oracle, with your own free Oracle Network account.
You can enter your own account in the SMS Send settings panel.
Please note: Due to Oracle having discontinued their web service, SMS Send no longer works!
The current version runs on Windows 10 and 11, but sending a message always ends with an error message.
Installation
If necessary, you will be prompted to install the required
.NET Desktop Runtime when you launch the app.
When you launch a newly released version,
Windows may display a warning. If you see the message
"Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting." you can click
"More info" and then
"Run anyway".
Alternatively, open the properties of the .exe file and select the
"Unblock" checkbox.
