Swap Mouse Buttons

Summary

Swap Mouse Buttons is a small freeware application that allows you to quickly switch between the right- and left-handed mouse modes.

Usage

To prevent RSI, I learned to use the mouse left- and right-handed. By switching once or twice a day, the chance of RSI is smaller.

The window shows whether the mouse is currently in right- or left-handed mode. Click "Swap" to switch, or "Swap and Close" to switch and close the app. At startup "Swap and Close" has the focus, so you can simply press Enter. The buttons respond to both the left and the right mouse button, which is handy when the buttons are just the wrong way round. You can also start the app with the parameter /LeftHanded, /RightHanded or /Swap to set the mouse buttons without showing the window, for example from a shortcut.

Installation

If necessary, you will be prompted to install the required .NET Desktop Runtime when you launch the app. When you launch a newly released version, Windows may display a warning. If you see the message "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting." you can click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
