Task Viewer

Task Viewer shows the processes currently running on your system, with their icon, product name, company, description, digital signature (signed by), path and filename, version and process ID; click a column header to sort. Click a process to see the modules (DLLs) it has loaded, or double-click it to switch to its window. Windows says a file is in use? File > Find process using a file (or drop the file on the window) shows which processes use it. Now you really know what is running on your computer. From the menu you can also start the screensaver, minimize all windows, log off, restart or shut down the computer. Processes without a readable path (such as System and protected processes) are not listed.

Installation

If necessary, you will be prompted to install the required .NET Desktop Runtime when you launch the app. When you launch a newly released version, Windows may display a warning. If you see the message "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting." you can click "More info" and then "Run anyway". Alternatively, open the properties of the .exe file and select the "Unblock" checkbox. Read more...
